Children’s fitness and confidence

Katie was an extremely active child, and from the age of four discovered gymnastics was the perfect outlet for her energy. She went on to become five times British and European Aerobics Gymnastics Champion.

Today Katie loves coaching fitness and gymnastics to children of all ages, and believes children’s fitness is a vital ingredient in their personal development, contributing to:

Motivation and self-discipline
Confidence and well-being
Co-ordination and mobility

Katie believes gymnastics is an excellent foundation for many aspiring actors and singers, as well as gymnasts and sports professionals, such as tennis players, who can improve flexibility, balance, alignment and upper body strength.

One of her students is Oliver Golding, who is the number 10 in Europe for under 15’s tennis.

Katie teaches children in two age groups:

Four to eight years old
Individual fitness sessions run for 30 minutes, (gymnastic sessions for one hour). Sessions are specific, fun and constructive, with short, focussed exercises to keep the child’s development consistent and fluent.

Eight years old and upwards
Individual sessions last for one hour. For this age group sessions are focussed on continuous development to improve co-ordination, flexibility and alignment. This aids and supports the changes their bodies are going through during their normal growth periods.

Buddy – with a friend
Groups of four

Katie is currently training clients with specific requirements:
Tennis, Gymnastics and Freestyle skiing
Rehab for small children, focussing on feet alignment
and posture
